CSR educates and advocates on pension and retiree health care issues at the Michigan Capitol, representing nearly 50,000 state retirees and over 170,000 public school retirees.
Groups representing active and retired state and school employees in Michigan created the Coalition for Secure Retirement to advocate for the protection of public pensions and retiree health care — issues that have become politicized and controversial at the Michigan State Capitol.
A majority of both state and school retirees receive less than $20,000 a year in pensions. CSR gives them, and the active employees depending on the same systems, an organized voice.
